Start Summer with Service!

Join BGCA in our fourth signature service event for 2014. With support from the Citi Foundation, the Million Members, Million Hours of Service initiative provides fun service opportunities that help all members volunteer throughout the year. If every member of a Boys & Girls Club gives just one hour of community service each year, we will reach our goal of a million members providing a million hours of service.

Signature Service Opportunity – United We Serve: Summer of Service
Don't miss our next signature service opportunity! Just in time for the sunny days of summer, United We Serve: Summer of Service encourages Club members to get involved with service projects and activities for the "Let's Read. Let's Move" campaign – combating summer learning loss, hunger and obesity. These inspiring events can be held any time between May 1 and Sept. 10. If your Club would like to participate, please register on the MMMHS online community, under the United We Serve: Summer of Service registration page.

Start your service projects with these tips in mind:

1. Kids need 60 minutes of play a day to be healthy.*
2. Hunger doesn't take a break for the summer: 19 million children receive free or reduced priced meals during the school year, but only 2.3 million receive summer meals.*
3. Reading five books during the summer months prevents learning loss. *
